Farm & Country Fair 2012: June 22, 23 and 24

 

Lively exhibition

Beside the hundreds of goats, sheep, horses and dogs you can find about 20 different breeds of cows. Between them a lot of original Dutch cow breeds. But also the Hungarian cows and Scottish Highlanders both with their enormous horns will be shown. The children's calf judging is at Saturday in the ring

near the cows.

Exiting folly's for adults and children

 Don't forget to visit the adventurous folly wood with rarities! The wood next to the showground is full with exiting surprises, fairy tails and bizarre folly's.

 

 

International Championship wool spinning 

The 39th wool spinning Championship will be held at Saterday the 23th of June in a big marquee at the showground. About 60 man, woman and teenagers  from Holland, Germany, Belgium

and Luxemburg will spin a twine as thin and long as possible in 45 minutes time. In the afternoon the twin must be at leat 3 times as thick as the one in the morning. This is the most difficult part.

The sheep and the goat

The two huge marquees with sheep, goats, a lot of wool and lovely woolen products are an adventure and a must for sheep lovers.  Watch the sheepdog trials, sheering and judging in the ring near the marquee. Here are different sheep dog breeds like the Kelpie en de Border Collie. At Saterday you will find the judging of the Hampshire Down Sheep, the Ouessant Sheep and Swifter Sheep.

30 different horses

Between 30 and 35 different horse breeds are attending the

Farm & Country Fair!  Every owner will be there and can tell

you everything about their breed.

The Fair- cd
During the last years many folk bands from England, Ireland and Scotland played at the Fair. You can hear a selection of these bands at the cd, which is made specially for the Farm & Country Fair and professional mastered. The cost of the cd is Euro 10,00 plus postal costs. The cd is for sale during the Fair,  feel free to ask for information if you like it through the post.
